The Curitiba-based folk/viking metal sextet Tandra released their first music video on the 19th. The chosen song, "Marching to Infinity," is one of the tracks from the band's debut album, Time and Eternity , and their most listened-to song according to streaming app statistics, accumulating over 650,000 listens on Spotify alone.
With the excellent reception of the album, many fans of the band had been waiting for some time for a music video, which had its release postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but in 2021, with due preparation, Tandra was finally able to release its first audiovisual work with a grand production and an elaborate Viking-themed plot, directed and edited by Alceste Ribas , makeup and costumes by Roberta Lopes , and produced by Black Flame Pictures .
“Two years after the release of the album Time And Eternity , I feel extremely fulfilled to be able to honor all those who have supported and continue to support us with this incredible music video. Thank you all, you are the best,” commented guitarist and vocalist Christopher Knop.
Tandra originated in 2013, but it wasn't until 2017 and 2018, with its lineup and purpose solidified, that it released its first official singles, "Open the Bar" and "Time And Eternity," the latter achieving great success, reaching over 300,000 plays on Spotify (a mark later surpassed by "Marching to Infinity" with over 650,000). With appearances at various festivals, sharing the stage with major Brazilian acts like Angra , Krisiun , and Tuatha de Danann , the band built its image and gained maturity for the release of its first album.
The band consists of Felipe Franco on bass and vocals, Christopher Knop and Geferson Franco on guitars and vocals, Felipe Ribeiro on flute and vocals, Max Waltrick on drums and percussion, and Carlos Linzmeyer on accordion.
The band's debut album also featured special appearances by Gabriel Mitsuo Inage on hurdy-gurdy and Andy Coutinho and Lucas Rafalski on backing vocals.
