System of a Down is coming to Brazil for five shows in 2025. The band will perform in Curitiba on May 6th (Estádio Couto Pereira), in Rio de Janeiro on May 8th (Estádio Nilton Santos – Engenhão), and in São Paulo on May 10th and 11th (Allianz Parque), with an additional third date at Autódromo de Interlagos on May 14th , opening for AFI .

System of a Down's return to Brazil promises to be historic. This is the band's first time in the country in 10 years. Their last visit was in 2015, at Rock In Rio and São Paulo, with the Wake Up The Souls Tour – a symbolic tour to raise awareness of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The group has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2006, with sporadic performances and releases over the years, making a full tour a rare feat. They will also perform in Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina.
What to expect from System of a Down's setlist in Brazil
In a recent interview with SNSMix.com , bassist Shavo Odadjian revealed that System of a Down intends to create a different setlist for each of the confirmed dates, drawing inspiration from the model presented by Metallica M72 tour . "We'll probably change the setup drastically between each [show], so if you go to both shows [in the same city], you'll hear different songs," he commented.
According to Odadjian, the band's shows should last a total of two hours, with approximately 30 songs in each set. “We're going to play two-hour sets. We have over 70 songs, but we'll play 30 of them—maybe 27 to 30 songs—and we'll mix and match. We're going to rehearse a lot so we know a lot and can switch songs between sets all the time, avoiding playing the same thing repeatedly.”
System of a Down's last live performance was on August 17th at Golden Gate Park Polo Field in San Francisco, California. On that occasion, the band played a total of 25 songs. Check out the complete setlist:
