System Of A Down's last release was in 2005

System Of A Down drummer John Domayan has confirmed that the band is on hiatus. Asked by Kroq why there hasn't been any new System Of A Down music in over a decade, Domayan replied:

“That’s a very good question. It’s a complex issue. You know, I’m ready to go anytime, and some members of the band haven’t been able to make it work. And it’s one of those things where if you can’t get everyone to come together, it doesn’t happen.”

He continued: “I don’t know if that’s going to happen right now. I don’t like to say this, but you have to live in the realm of reality. And anything we do outside of the band will never be close. System Of A Down is the best thing anyone in the band will ever do.”

The comments coincide with those made by guitarist Daron Malakian Revolver magazine , “I can’t say we’ll never do it, but it won’t be now. It doesn’t look like we’ll record anything together anytime soon. I’m not going to close the book and say we’re separated forever. We still play live. We’re still friends.” Read here .
