Both musicians were also featured on the Instagram of guitarist Theo Van der Loo , from Ego Kill Talent . The Brazilian band was invited to open all the shows on System of a Down's Latin American tour in 2025 , and a bond of friendship was formed between the two groups.

System of a Down and their tour in Brazil in 2025
In May 2025, System of a Down made history with the Wake Up! Tour , their first tour of Latin America in 10 years. The band's visit to Brazil included shows in Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, and three dates in São Paulo – including a special performance at the Interlagos racetrack.
Ego Kill Talent was invited by System of a Down to open all the shows on their South American tour, which drew a total audience of 500,000 people. The choice caused a controversial reaction from the public, due to EKT's participation as an opening act for several rock and metal acts in the last year.
At the time, John Dolmayan publicly defended the Brazilian group. "To be clear, Ego Kill Talent is opening for System because that's what System wants. We are old and dear friends, we enjoy playing together and we like the music," he wrote.
“I know there are many great bands in Brazil and South America as a whole. Many were introduced to us by the same people some of you are hating on. Stop it, grow up and control your hate. We are planning great things for the future and many, many bands will be a part of it, but if you think insulting one band to promote another is the right way to go, you are a complete idiot,” he concluded.
