The possibility of a new System Of A Down album has created controversy within the band. In May, bassist Shavo Odadjian posted comments on Facebook about the upcoming CD, blaming vocalist Serj Tankian for the delay.

System of a Down's last CD, Mesmerize/Hypnotize, was released in 2005. Serj Tankian released a solo CD in 2012 and currently also works on two side projects, one in progressive jazz and the other in symphonies.
