Bassist Johnny Christ played a prank on Synyster Gates during Avenged Sevenfold's European tour, switching the microphones the guitarist would use for backing vocals on the song "Little Piece Of Heaven" so that Gates' voice sounded like Alvin the Chipmunk's.
In the video, the bassist explains how he orchestrated the whole scheme involving A7X's sound engineer, Bruce Danz, and asking him to get everything ready for the show in Sweden.
Gates and Christ have been pulling pranks and jokes throughout the tour, and the bassist believes he won the battle with this latest prank, which altered Synyster Gates' voice only in the band's in-ear monitors and not in the PA system sending the sound to the audience. Christ then explains that it was even funnier to see Gates' reaction on stage because he looked like a crazy person and nobody except the band understood what was happening.
The video also shows the moment when Synyster Gates realizes he may have been the target of a prank and asks Christ, mid-performance, if it was him, to which the bassist confirms with a laugh.
