Progressive metal took to the Monsters of Rock stage with Symphony X this Saturday, the 22nd. The second act of the day entered the stage of a packed Allianz Parque and delivered a great performance that perfectly justifies the band's excellent relationship with the Brazilian audience.

Just like Helloween , who will take the stage at 3:30 PM, the band has a loyal fanbase in Brazil and returns in a very short space of time: Symphony X was in the country last year for three shows, originally scheduled for 2020 and postponed several times due to the pandemic. Before that, the Americans visited the country in 2019 (revisit it here ).

Composed of Michael Romeo, Russell Allen, Michael LePond, Jason Rullo, and Michael Pinnella, the band delivered a technically proficient performance that filled the stadium with the vocalist's well-placed high notes and relentless drumming, but also showcased the charisma of those who feel right at home.

When mentioning Kiss, Deep Purple, and Scorpions to the audience, the frontman thanked them for the opportunity to be part of Monsters of Rock and expressed his gratitude for the fans' support, without whom "no band" could be on stage. "We're fans of these guys just like you, it's an honor for us to be here. Thank you for having us," he said.

With a more enthusiastic audience and a larger national following than Doro, Symphony X delivered a well-executed performance, which received vigorous applause at the end of each song.
