According to news from the Radio Rock , James Gunn , director and screenwriter of the new film, focuses on a young Clark Kent. The story follows his first steps as a reporter in Metropolis, shortly after leaving Smallville. With this approach, Gunn seeks to renew the character's connection with the audience.
Marvel 's trend of updating soundtracks, DC Comics is betting on a modern version of the famous Superman theme. Now, rock n' roll takes center stage. The guitar solo that opens the trailer makes this new musical direction clear. This choice reflects a growing trend in cinema, where vibrant soundtracks are gaining prominence.

“John Williams’ theme is my all-time favorite soundtrack. When I was a kid, what I loved most about the film was the music,” Murphy stated.

David Corenswet ( Pearl ) plays Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan ( The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ) plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult ( Mad Max: Fury Road ) is the villain Lex Luthor. Skyler Gisondo ( Licorice Pizza ) will play Jimmy Olsen, the hero's best friend. Wendell Pierce ( The Wire ) has been cast as Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen work (via Omelete ).
