The first day of Summer Breeze Brazil in history took place last Saturday, the 29th. With Blind Guardian as the main attraction, there were 16 shows across the festival's four stages, in addition to the highly anticipated lecture by Bruce Dickinson .

Wikimetal team was present at the event and covered a good portion of the day's attractions. See here a summary of Saturday and exclusive photos from our collaborator Leca Suzuki at the festival. Don't forget to swipe to the side to see the following photos in the galleries.

After Voodoo Kiss opened the show on the Ice Stage at 11 am, the English death metal band Benediction took to the Ice Stage shortly after, at noon sharp. This was their first show in Brazil since 2015.

A little later, at 1:15 PM, it was Crypta to take the stage at the Sun Stage, located on the other side of the Latin America Memorial. As we mentioned in our review of the show ( read here ), the stage without screens felt small for the representatives of Brazilian death metal.

The event featured several tributes to Andre Matos , beginning with the exclusive premiere of the second episode of the documentary Maestro do Rock , held in the Waves Stage auditorium between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Afterwards, Viper, Shaman , and part of Angra took to the Ice Stage for a tribute marked by technical difficulties, but which moved the audience ( see the review here ).

The event's main stage, Hot Stage, soon hosted two highly anticipated shows. The first was by Skid Row , who returned to Brazil with their new vocalist, the Swede Eric Grönwall, and a new album, called The Gang's All Here , from 2022. The performance was incredible and showed a return to the band's youth with the excellent frontman ( read the review here ).

Meanwhile, at the Waves Stage, the audience with exclusive stage access filled the auditorium for Bruce Dickinson's talk, in which he spoke about his career, entrepreneurship, and more. His appearance at Summer Breeze Brazil concludes the musician's most recent stay in the country, following a series of shows with the Concerto For Group And Orchestra , celebrating the music of Jon Lord and Deep Purple. Relive that show in São Paulo here .

After Sepultura took the stage next door with another impressive show, it was Lamb of God's to draw a huge crowd. The band was one of the most anticipated acts of the festival and, without a doubt, delivered one of the best performances of Saturday, as we recounted in this review .

The task of closing the show on the Sun Stage fell to Accept , the relentless veterans of classic German heavy metal, who brought their tour promoting their new album Too Mean to Die Wolf Hoffman 's stage presence .

The night concluded with Blind Guardian , who returned to Brazil after a long eight years, but made up for the wait with an epic show and the promise of a return soon. See the review here .
