The second day of Summer Breeze Brazil closed out the festival's emblematic debut edition with even more shows. Featuring established names in world metal, from Testament and Kreator to Avantasia , Sunday innovated by bringing Parkway Drive as the headliner – and hit the mark once again.

Once again, the Wikimetal covered some of the day's attractions with reviews and exclusive photos from our contributor Leca Suzuki (swipe to the side to see the following photos in the galleries). See also the summary of Saturday's coverage and the analysis of the experience .

On Sunday, two bands opened the festivities simultaneously: the Brazilian band Krisiun represented death metal on the Hot Stage, while the American band Velvet Chains brought hard rock to the Sun Stage at 11 am. This is the band's debut in Brazil and their second show in the country, after performing with Stone Temple Pilots in Rio de Janeiro last Thursday, the 27th.

Next, the Ice Stage hosted another band that was already in Brazil for a show parallel to Summer Breeze : Grave Digger . The German band had played in Curitiba last Thursday.

Then it was the turn of the 80s hard rock fans to head to the Waves Stage to watch Vixen in Brazil. The performance drew a good crowd to the auditorium at the Memorial da América Latina and brought a lot of energy with the band's classics (see the review here ).

For the third time in Brazil, the Finnish folk metal band Finntroll was also among the attractions on Sunday. The band performed on the Sun Stage at 2:30 PM.

From then on, the concert schedule was filled with bands perfectly timed for the same day of the festival: on the Hot Stage, Testament and Kreator performed back-to-back.

In the case of Kreator, who surprised everyone by using fire for the first time at the event, the show could easily have been headlined, both for the quality of the performance and the size of the audience. See the review here .

In between those two metal shows, the Ice Stage hosted the classy rock of The Winery Dogs . The supergroup returned to Brazil after almost ten years, with shows parallel to the festival, first in Rio de Janeiro and then in Curitiba . Led by the bittersweet vocals of Richie Kotzen (vocals and guitar), the trio formed by Billy Sheehan (bass) and Mike Portnoy (drums) delivered a perfect performance for dancing and appreciating the musicianship involved.

Avantasia 's turn to deliver a thrilling and hypnotic performance. Highly regarded by the Brazilian audience, who sang along fervently from beginning to end, the band promoted their new album, A Paranormal Evening with the Moonflower Society , from 2022.

Closing out the show on the Hot Stage, Parkway Drive delivered a simply explosive performance, partly due to the lighting effects and the excessive use of flames, but also because of the impactful sound.

With a top-notch performance, the group received numerous chants of "Parkway Drive! Parkway Drive!" from the enthusiastic audience, who jumped and danced from the very beginning.

Although not as well-known to the general Brazilian public, the band demonstrated why they are successful at festivals throughout the Northern Hemisphere and were another excellent choice for the Summer Breeze Brasil , which has proven time and again how there is room in our country for innovation in rock and metal lineups.
