Woman recited lyrics from "One More Light" and prevented a man from committing suicide
A fan used the lyrics of a Linkin Park to save a man's life. She used the sad song "One More Light" to convince the man that he shouldn't commit suicide.
Health worker Christina Settanni was driving along a Florida highway when she noticed a man sitting on the edge of a bridge. Afraid he might jump, she decided to stop, get out of her car, and go to him. She sat down next to the man and recited the lyrics to the Linkin Park song, “Who cares if one more light goes out?/ Well, I do.”
“I stopped because I’ve been where he was. He needed someone to show him they cared,” Settanni said. “I don’t know if he connected with the music, but she just started crying.”.
Shaun Cayer, the police officer who arrived at the scene, said he believed the music saved the man's life. He was not arrested, but taken to a mental health facility.
Chester Bennington , lead singer of Linkin Park, took his own life in 2017.
