"One show every two weeks could pave the way for almost another decade of life."

The report , conducted by O2 and behavioral science expert Professor Patrick Fagan, indicates that attending concerts may help people live longer.

According to the study, experiencing a concert for just 20 minutes can result in a 21% increase in feelings of well-being. Other research has found a link between “high levels of well-being [and] a nine-year increase in lifespan,” suggesting that exposure to live music could help you live longer.

Psychometric and cardiac tests were performed on the study participants, where 25% experienced increased self-esteem, and 75% experienced increased mental stimulation. The study also found that those who attend concerts every two weeks are more likely to have "happiness, contentment, productivity, and self-esteem at the highest level."

“Our research shows the profound impact concerts have on feelings, health, happiness and well-being – with bi-weekly or regular attendance being key ,” he said. “Combining all our findings with O2’s research, we’ve arrived at a recipe that one concert every two weeks could pave the way for almost a decade more of life.”
