Stress is a pioneering band in Brazilian Heavy Metal.
Forty years ago, in Pará, influenced by Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, the first band to release a Heavy Metal album in Brazil emerged: Stress. To celebrate, the band is coming to São Paulo for a single show, which will take place this Saturday, February 24th, at Sesc Belenzinho.
In addition to 40 years of career, the band also celebrates the 35th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album, which was recorded in just 16 hours. Stress faced censorship, lack of resources, went through hiatuses, but is back to celebrate with the São Paulo audience. The last time the band came to São Paulo was in 2013 at the Super Peso Brasil festival, alongside the bands Metalmorphose, Salário Mínimo, Taurus and Centúrias.
The trio from Pará consists of Roosevelt “Bala” Cavalcante (bass and vocals), Paulo Gui (guitar) and André Lopes Chamon (drums).
