Stranger Things gained a charismatic character in its fourth season: the self-confessed headbanger and nerd Eddie Munson , whose look was originally inspired by David Bowie

Actor Joseph Quinn had previously revealed his "very heavy metal" preparation for getting into character in an interview with Entertainment Weekly , where he also discussed the process of finding the right wig.

Duffer brothers had a different idea for Eddie Munson's hair: it would be something "very David Bowie in Labyrinth ," inspired by the iconic Jareth , the Goblin King.

The actor had two weeks to find the perfect wig. “Unfortunately, I’m not David Bowie, so I don’t think I could pull off something like that,” Quinn said. “I wanted something normal, something from this world, something like a mullet. But we compromised.”

For Quinn, the wig is still “objectively ridiculous” and had the downside of being very itchy, but it was the perfect find to bring the D&D master to life in Stranger Things . “It’s very helpful as an actor to put something on and instantly you feel like you’re looking at a different person,” he said.

Previously, the actor who plays Eddie had talked about the character's clothes, such as the official vintage pieces sent by the widow of Ronnie James Dio , one of the character's favorite bands. See more here .
