Straight Against Fall releases this Friday, the 6th, the new single “Industrial Death Machine (One Pig)”. The song is the first release from the new EP, which is scheduled for release in the first half of the year by the Psywar Records label.
The Portuguese-Brazilian project based in northern Portugal brings an even freer and broader approach to musical references. In a press release, Straight Against Fall spoke about the single: "It's a song that portrays the life of exploitation experienced as an immigrant, marked by excessive work, silence, and loneliness.".
“It speaks of a constant suffering kept inside, unshared, until it transforms into mental illness, such as depression and panic disorder. The music exposes the dehumanization of the individual within the industrial machine, where the person becomes just another cog, 'a pig' feeding the system. This is in addition to the work that Junior [Guimarães Jr, drummer] did, which was butchering pigs. Throughout the composition, it becomes clear that the life of an immigrant, despite the struggle and resistance, will always be lonely, carrying an emotional weight that is rarely seen or acknowledged.”
