“Stop complaining and put on your damn mask,” says Corey Taylor.

The vocalist recalled a day when he had to wear the Slipknot mask for eight hours straight.

Corey Taylor , vocalist of Slipknot , is known for publicly expressing his opinions, many of which are controversial, but now the musician is only asking one favor of us all: to wear our masks.

In an interview with Australian radio station Triple M about his first solo album, CMFT, Taylor was asked if he had a message for those who don't want to wear masks during the pandemic. He responded, "Yeah, stop complaining and put your damn mask on."

“This is not an isolated incident,” he continues, “My country is full of idiots who think this is some kind of political opinion or a partisan issue. And I just think, ‘Are you serious?’ Just because you haven’t had anyone in your life affected by the disease doesn’t mean it’s not real.”

Taylor then used his own experience with masks, something he's been doing for over 20 years with Slipknot, to explain how easy and simple it is to wear one in public: “Once I had to wear a mask that covered my entire face for eight hours while doing a press tour with Slipknot. Eight hours straight without taking it off, but are these people going to nag and complain about wearing a mask for 10 minutes while they're at the supermarket?”

While Slipknot is on hiatus following cancellations and postponements of shows on the We Are Not Your Kind , Corey Taylor is using the time to finalize his first studio album, CMFT , which will be released on October 2nd.
