Former Linkin Park frontman was present at Jeff Gutt's first show as the frontman of STP.
Jeff Gutt, vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots , spoke about his friendship with the late Chester Bennington , who was the band's frontman between 2013 and 2015.
Gutt revealed that the former Linkin Park vocalist, who died in July of last year, was present when he gave his first performance with Stone Temple Pilots at a secret show in Los Angeles in November 2016. The statement was made during an interview with Yahoo Entertainment .
“I’ve known Chester since 2001. I was in a band called Dry Cell, and we were signed by the same agent as Linkin Park. That’s how I met him ,” he explained. “He used to come to our autograph sessions and our rehearsals. We had a good friendship.”
Gutt recalled that it was Bennington who asked to attend his first show with Stone Temple Pilots. "He called me and asked if he could see it. And it was really cool to have him there."
Last Thursday, the 8th, Gutt's band released "Never Enough ," another song from their upcoming album. The self-titled album arrives on March 16th. Listen to the track below.
