"The Art of Letting Go" is the third song released from the group's upcoming self-titled album
With the recent releases “Meadow” and “Roll Me Under , Stone Temple Pilots proved that their new vocalist, Jeff Gutt, knows how to rock and roll. Now, with “The Art of Letting Go,” a track released this Tuesday, February 20th, the band shows fans the softer side of the new lineup.
The third song released from the band's upcoming self-titled album is reflective and melancholic, floating between guitar chords played by Dean DeLeo and verses in which Gutt explores his vocal power. “I hope to see your smile again / But some day's far too long of a road / The Art of Letting Go / I may be setting myself up to have to / Walk the streets alone / For letting go ,” he sings.
Stone Temple Pilots is scheduled for release on March 16th, while a vinyl version will arrive on May 25th. In an interview with Loudwire, Gutt spoke about his experience recording the album. “This work is full of incredible songs and feelings that I believe are currently missing in music. It has the Stone Temple Pilots feel, even with me singing.” Listen to “The Art of Letting Go” below.
