Details about the production have not been revealed
A documentary about the history of Stone Temple Pilots is on the way. According to Kent Sevener, executive vice president of content acquisition at Showtime, "not much has been done about the band."
Kent revealed that the documentary will tell the story in a compelling way, covering all phases of the group, and that Showtime, a television network, will be responsible for the production.
Currently, the band is preparing for the release of their self-titled album, their first without vocalist Scott Weiland, who passed away in 2015.
Jeff Gutt, the group's current vocalist, made his debut with Stone Temple Pilots at a show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, California , where they first performed the single "Meadow".
The band's original vocalist, Scott Weiland, left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Chester Bennington. Two years later, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus.
Bennington was with the band for two years before deciding to dedicate himself to Linkin Park. Since then, Stone Temple Pilots had been searching for a new vocalist.
