Stone Temple Pilots deals with loss in their new song “Miles Away,” which will be featured on their new acoustic LP, Perdida .
The album, the band's second with vocalist Jeff Gutt , was recorded with vintage instruments such as violins and a marxophone, along with acoustic guitars.
Speaking to Spin , Gutt talked about the song. “This was something that Robert [DeLeo , bassist] brought up and got excited about. When that happens, you listen. So, we were all ears. After that, the track kind of took shape, with all of us working on it. I really identify with it, because of a lot of things that have happened in my life. I tried to put a personal touch where I could.”
