Vedder was called to the stage to sing “Dead and Bloated”.
During a show last Saturday, the 10th, in the American city of Tempe, Arizona, Stone Temple Pilots called a nine-year-old boy onto the stage to sing “Dead and Bloated”. Watch a visual recording of the moment below.
“This is Vedder, and he’s going to sing with us. You have to help him get started ,” said vocalist Jeff Gutt. “He’s a great friend of mine. I grew up with his dad, and they live in Arizona. There’s my old roommate,” he revealed, pointing to the audience.
The band kicked off their first US tour with Gutt on vocals in early March. He is the band's third frontman. The original vocalist, Scott Weiland, left in 2013 and was replaced by Chester Bennington. Two years later, Weiland was found dead on the band's tour bus.
Bennington was with the group for two years before deciding to dedicate himself solely to Linkin Park. In July 2017, the musician passed away. Since then, Stone Temple Pilots had been searching for a new vocalist.
Stone Temple Pilots' next self-titled album arrives next Friday, the 16th. The most recent track released was "Never Enough ," full of classic rock references.
