Jeff Gutt was introduced to fans in November 2017.
Stone Temple Pilots released their new studio album this Friday, the 16th.
Self-titled, the album marks Jeff Gutt's debut on vocals and becomes the band's first album without vocalist Scott Weiland, who passed away in 2015. Featuring 12 tracks, Stone Temple Pilots includes the previously released "Meadow," "Roll Me Under," "The Art of Letting Go," and "Never Enough."
In an interview with Loudwire, Gutt spoke about the experience of recording the album: “This work is full of incredible songs and feelings that I believe are currently missing in music. It has the Stone Temple Pilots feel, even with me singing.”
Guitarist Dean DeLeo agrees with Gutt and reveals he is "excited about the future, as the best way to honor our past is to continue making new music."
Gutt is the third vocalist to hold the position in Stone Temple Pilots. The original member, Scott Weiland, left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Chester Bennington. Two years later, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus.
Bennington was with the band for two years before deciding to dedicate himself to Linkin Park, and in July 2017, the musician passed away. Since then, Stone Temple Pilots had been searching for a new vocalist.
