Stone Temple Pilots ends auditions for new vocalist.

The band received thousands of recordings

Stone Temple Pilots have announced the end of the period during which candidates could submit their recordings online to apply for the position of the band's new vocalist.

According to a statement provided to Pulse Of Radio, many musicians posted their auditions in tribute to vocalist Scott Weiland, who passed away last year .

The band stated that they have already listened to "thousands" of tracks and still have more to listen to, and they expect to announce the results in the coming months

“We received an incredible number of candidates who sent in their recordings. Thousands and thousands. We only want one! (laughs). So Robert, Eric and I are committed to the task of making the decision. I promise one thing: We're not going to settle. This person has to be truly fantastic. We were lucky enough to have one of the greats in our band – twice! You know, including Chester. So we're not going to settle and choose something less than that ,” declared guitarist Dean DeLeo.
