Robert DeLeo spoke about the former vocalists of Stone Temple Pilots.

Stone Temple Pilots bassist and founder Robert DeLeo spoke about the band's former vocalists. STP lost not one, but two successive vocalists.

Scott Weiland , the original vocalist, reunited with the band in 2010 after an eight-year hiatus. He was fired in 2013 and died in 2015 from an overdose.

Chester Bennington joined STP in 2013 and left three years later to spend more time with Linkin Park. He committed suicide in July 2017.

Regarding Weiland, DeLeo said: “You don’t experience things like this often. People who come into your life and create a dream. I’m here today because of what we created. Especially when I’m on stage playing one of our songs. He’s always running through my spirit.”

Regarding Chester, Robert said: “I love Chester. He was a fantastic human being. He was like a brother. He had incredible energy. He was always looking for a solution; he never got stuck in conflict. He had such energy. He was an angel who came into our lives and set us right.”
