Stone Temple Pilots have cancelled the remaining dates of their current tour as a precaution against new cases of COVID-19.

The band's decision was prompted by a member of the crew testing positive for the virus. The infected person's role was not disclosed.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we must regret to cancel our remaining shows on this current tour,” they explained in a statement. “Thank you to everyone who came to see us this fall, it was wonderful to see your beautiful faces in person again. We hope to be able to do this again with you all soon.”

The band had only two shows left to complete their North American tour, but opted to cancel. All fans will be reimbursed.

Several artists who resumed performing in the Northern Hemisphere are facing new cancellations and postponements due to cases of the disease among their teams. Musicians such as Corey Taylor, Bruce Dickinson, and James Shaffer have already been infected. More recently, Kiss staff members alleged poor safety conditions after the death of a band technician from the virus.
