Stone Temple Pilots announce acoustic album and release “Fare Thee Well”; listen here.

"Most of our songs start acoustically, and we felt they would be more genuine if we kept them that way."

Stone Temple Pilots have announced the release of their second album with Jeff Gutt on vocals. Titled Perdida , the album will be released on February 7th and will be accompanied by an acoustic tour.

“This is an album we’ve been wanting to make for a while,” said bassist Robert DeLeo , “Most of our songs start acoustically and we felt they would be more genuine if we kept them that way.”

"Perdida ," the Spanish word the band chose to name the album, is about exactly that: loss. "I revisited very difficult moments in my life," said Gutt, who wrote most of the lyrics, "I tried to be as vulnerable as I could, and that's scary."

The songs on the album were written and recorded during the band's most recent tour, which featured Bush and The Cult . The first track has been released and you can listen to it below.
