Nickelback's new album was the band's lowest-selling release.
Nickelback released their latest album, Feed The Machine , last month, and Stone Sour released Hydrograd on the 3rd of this month. Given the recent feud between their vocalists Chad Kroeger and Corey Taylor, a comparison of their sales figures was inevitable.
Hydrograd had a good first week, reaching number 8 on the charts in its release week. Even so, Stone Sour's work did not surpass the sales of Nickelback's album: Feed The Machine reached number 5 in its debut week, and that was Nickelback's worst position in 16 years.
The controversy between the two vocalists began when Kroeger gave a statement referring to Stone Sour as "Nickelback light" . Corey Taylor responded to the comments in an interview , saying that Kroeger has a foot-face .
