Vinyl collection with rare Beatles and Nirvana records stolen

The owner stated that the vinyl collection was a kind of financial reserve

A vinyl record collection spanning over forty years was stolen from its owner's apartment in Seattle. Andee Mefferd said the items were worth more than US$4,000 (approximately R$16,000).

“I was on my way to work and was notified by the building superintendent that there seemed to be someone in my unit,” Mefferd said. “We opened the door and there was nothing there.”

The collection was a kind of financial reserve: "If life fell apart and I lost my job, at least I could pay my rent for a few months, so it's really disappointing."

The collection included rare and previously unreleased pieces from artists such as the Beatles, Nirvana, Beastie Boys , and PJ Harvey . "The records belonged to my father, and many were still in their original packaging."
