After being diagnosed with a throat infection, Sting postponed performances he was scheduled to give in the United States.

On social media, the musician informed fans of the reason for not performing at the Bass Magazine Awards, which takes place this Thursday, the 23rd.

On the other hand, the musician clarified that he is recovering and will resume his concert schedule soon.

"I'm recovering from a temporary throat infection that prevented me from singing, but I'm looking forward to resuming my performances and rescheduling shows soon," he wrote.

In addition to the performance scheduled for the US awards ceremony, the STING 3.0 tour shows that were to be held on January 24th and 26th have also been postponed. The dates will be rescheduled for May and June.

In a statement, the press office said the decision was made following medical advice.

"On the recommendation of his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his performance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 shows in Phoenix, AZ and Wheatland, CA, as well as his performance at the 20th anniversary of the Cherrytree Music Company."

The statement also suggests that fans should not discard their tickets, as they will be offered new dates.

"Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding," he concluded.
