Interview published by AC/DC
Malcolm Young's nephew, Stevie Young, has been filling in for his uncle at AC/DC since Malcolm retired in 2014 after being hospitalized with dementia . Regarding working in his place, Stevie said in a video published by the band:
“Every day I listen to the songs to try and find parts I hadn’t heard before, or something Malcolm did that would help me play them. I don’t try to imitate him, or copy him. I just try to keep alive the spirit of what he did in the band.”
AC/DC's guitar tech commented on Stevie's work: "He plays harder than anyone I've ever worked with. In just one song he reduces the pick to half its size. He uses 30 to 35 picks per show. Stevie is an animal."
