The war in Ukraine has prompted a number of artists to express solidarity and concern about the current situation. Recently, names like Bring Me The Horizon and Green Day canceled shows both in the country in question and in Russia, but others, like Stevie Nicks , found another way to express themselves.
The famous voice of Fleetwood Mac shared a passage from his diary in which he writes a letter addressed to Vladimir Putin and speaks poetically and ominously about ghosts and the weight they will place on the president's head.
In her writings, Stevie condemns Putin for "the murder of children and young people and the destruction of homes and young families for sport." The singer also cites great achievements of Russian culture, such as its athletes, writers, and ballerinas, and declares: "Even with all the beauty that lies behind you, you will never be forgiven."
Stevie Nicks ends her letter cursing Putin for his actions: “I hope you never sleep again. I hope you sit at that long, ugly, lonely table for the rest of your life. I hope your ghosts haunt you until you are gray and miserable. I hope your country’s history books never write a word about you.”
“I hope you turn to dust. I hope you become invisible. I hope you become 'the forgotten one' and a complete stranger with no return home,” the singer concluded. She ends her words by assuring that Putin's ghosts will come for him and that, perhaps, “they are already here.” Check out the letter in full:
