Stevie Nicks comments on 'Daisy Jones & The Six': "It became my story"

The book that inspired the Prime Video series was based on the intrigues of Fleetwood Mac.

Daisy Jones & The Six about Fleetwood Mac ? For Stevie Nicks , the answer is practically a yes.

The book that inspired the Prime Video series tells the story of a fictional rock band in the 1970s that goes through several internal conflicts while recording their most successful album. Any Fleetwood Mac fan can immediately point out the similarities to the recordings of the iconic album Rumours (1977) .

The inspiration is no secret to anyone, since the book's author herself, Taylor Jenkins Reid , has admitted that the quintet's story served as the basis for her work . Now, months after the series' release, Stevie Nicks herself has commented on the similarity for the first time – and in a positive way.

“I just watched Daisy Jones & The Six for the second time. At first it wasn’t quite my story, but Riley perfectly became my story. It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story,” she wrote on Twitter.

The "Riley" Stevie refers to is actress Riley Keough , who plays the main character, Daisy Jones , supposedly based on Stevie's own role in the band. On social media, Stevie Nicks also remembered her friend and late Fleetwood Mac member, Christine McVie , and wished for a second season of the series.

"It was very emotional for me. I wish Christine could have watched it. She would have loved it. I hope it continues..."
