Steven Tyler , lead singer of Aerosmith, was accused of sexually abusing a minor in November 2023, however, US Lewis Kaplan
Jeannne Bellino was working as a model at the time and accused Tyler of sexually assaulting her twice in the same day when she was 17 years old. The incident allegedly occurred in Manhattan in 1975.
Bellino initiated the process using New York City's Gender-Based Violence Victim Protection Act
However, in order to benefit from the statute of limitations, the magistrate determined that the accusation needed to meet specific criteria, including the condition of representing "a serious risk of physical injury." The judge in the case stated that the incident does not satisfy this condition.
David Long-Daniels , Tyler's lawyer, stated: "We agree with the judge's reasoning and are grateful for this outcome on behalf of our client."
Details of the accusation
In the summer of 1975, Jeanne met Aerosmith after a fashion show. In her version of events, she and the lead singer were walking down the street when he forced her into a phone booth. Tyler allegedly groped her, simulated sexual activity, and put his tongue down her throat while other people watched and laughed outside.
Later, during a stay at the Warwick Hotel , Steven allegedly pinned her against a wall and assaulted her again. She claims she still suffers the emotional consequences years after the incident.
Another lawsuit involving the singer occurred in December 2022. Julia Misley accused him of using his celebrity status to manipulate her and initiate a sexual relationship while she was only 16 years old. The relationship lasted three years, and Julia claims she became pregnant but was pressured into having an abortion.
Steven Tyler continues to deny all accusations.
