Steven Tyler returned to perform at a special event alongside several other musicians after announcing his retirement from Aerosmith . The Jam For Janie benefit concert took place at the Hollywood Palladium the previous Sunday.
The frontman had been away from the stage due to a vocal cord injury. The problem had persisted since 2023 , aggravating the definitive end to touring, as the laryngeal fracture was considered "incurable." Following this, the band announced their retirement on social media, after the cancellation of shows on the Peace Out Tour .
Since the announcement that caused a stir among fans, Tyler has been dedicated to his recovery, but made an exception for the party that aimed to raise funds for his organization that assists women who have suffered abuse and neglect. The money raised was also donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The vocalist shared the stage with other musicians as well, such as Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Lainey Wilson , Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes), and Jessie J. Previously, the event featured performances by Joan Jett , Billy Idol , and Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes.
