The vocalist reveals that the location was a long-held dream.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler inaugurated a shelter for young abuse victims in Atlanta, United States.

Called Janie's House, the place was inaugurated last Wednesday, the 6th, in collaboration with Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus, an American mental health service.

The shelter's name was inspired by the band's classic 1989 song "Janie's Got a Gun." The track tells the story of a child who was abused by a member of their family.

“This place being called 'Janie's House' is a dream come true. When I sang 'Janie's got a gun'... she doesn't need that gun now. She has support ,” Tyler said in an interview with The Independent.

On his official Instagram account, the singer posted a video celebrating the opening, revealing it to be a long-held dream.
