Steven Tyler and Joe Perry , vocalist and guitarist of Aerosmith , performed together for the first time since the band's farewell tour, Peace Out… , was abandoned in September 2023.
The duo performed at a private event in San Francisco last week for the Tyler, Janie's Fund , founded by Tyler in 2015 to support vulnerable girls who have suffered abuse and neglect.
The show also featured Nuno Bettencourt, guitarist for Extreme , Matt , former drummer for Guns N' Roses .
The supergroup performed five Aerosmith classics: “Toys in the Attic”, “Same Old Song and Dance”, “Sweet Emotion”, “Dream On” and “Walk This Way”.
Aerosmith announced their retirement from the stage in 2024. The group had been on a farewell tour since September 2023, but had to cancel most of the dates after lead singer Steven Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury during a show.
Steven Tyler returned to the stage in February of this year, for the first time since the band announced their retirement from touring, at another Janie's Fund in Hollywood.
