Six years after the arrival of Modern Primitive, Steve Vai announced that he will release his tenth studio album, Inviolate , on January 28, 2022.
The new album will feature nine songs in total, including the previously released “Knappsack” and “Candle Power.” Both songs showcase Vai’s talent, as “Candle Power” features a new technique the guitarist has been working on, and “Knappsack” was recorded using only one hand at a time while Vai recovered from finger surgery.
The announcement of Inviolate was made simply through Steve Vai's social media. The musician posted what appears to be the album cover and wrote in the caption: “Yes, it’s ready. And it will be released on January 28, 2022. The name is Inviolate . Enjoy the ride.”
