Steve Riley , former drummer for WASP and LA Guns , passed away last Tuesday, October 24th. The information was confirmed by Blabbermouth directly with Steve's son, Cole , but the news was first reported on Metal Sludge .
Speaking to Blabbermouth , the drummer's family released the following statement: “We are devastated to report that Steve Riley has passed away at the age of 67. Steve had been battling a severe case of pneumonia for several weeks and succumbed to the illness on Tuesday, October 24th. His wife Mary Louise and son Cole were by his side during his final moments.”
Throughout the statement, the drummer's family emphasizes that, despite his "rich legacy in music," Steve's "greatest legacy" was "his role as a loving husband and caring father.".
Steve Riley was the drummer for WASP during the band's first four albums and world tours between 1983 and 1987. After that period, he joined L.A. Guns.
