Janine Morse , wife of Steve Morse , died last Sunday, the 4th. The cause of death was a stage 4 tumor.
Deep Purple guitarist shared the heartbreaking news via his social media:
“Yesterday, February 4th, at 2:40 PM, I said goodbye for the last time to my beloved wife, Janine. We were in a period of remission that didn't last long enough. But, thankfully, I was able to spend practically every day with her while finding alternative solutions to overcome some of the consequences of the long chemotherapy treatment. We traveled and did things, and we were enjoying life, cherishing every moment.”.
The guitarist added his gratitude for the affection his fans have shown his wife.

Steve Morse's departure from Deep Purple was announced in April 2022. Steve explained that the reason was his wife's difficult diagnosis: "I simply have to be there with her."
