Steve Harris releases single “Spit Fire” with the band British Lion

British Lion features Steve Harris and vocals by Richard Taylor

The highly anticipated new single from British Lion – a project by Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris – has just been released. “Spit Fire” was already known from live performances, but this is the first studio version of the song.

British Lion was a band produced by Harris, who turned it into a personal project. Their first, self-titled album was released in 2012. Regarding the work, Harris had commented:

I want to make something very clear – this isn't just a Steve Harris solo album… It's much more than that. Eventually, I'd like it to become a real band, and I want to believe we won't stop here. I'd love to play these songs live. It would be a huge pleasure for me. I haven't played in smaller clubs for a very, very long time, and I miss it from time to time. Sometimes I miss the atmosphere that's created when you're right in front of people… With Iron Maiden, that's something we haven't been able to do for many years.”

In addition to Harris, the project features vocalist Richard Taylor , David Hawkins on guitar and keyboards, Grahame Leslie and Barry Fitzgibbon also on guitar, and drummers Ian Roberts , Simon Dawson and Richard Cook .

British Lion will be performing in Brazil this November. More information here .
