"These are insanely good works," said the Iron Maiden bassist

During an interview on the Talk is Jericho podcast, bassist Steve Harris Iron Maiden 's time with vocalist Blaze Bayley , which took place between 1994 and 1999.

With Bayley, the band recorded The X Factor and Virtual XI , and according to Harris, "they are insanely good works." "I remember saying at the time that these albums with Blaze would be more appreciated in the future than they were being, and that's starting to happen," he says.

"We were struggling in those years, everyone thought that Metal's days were numbered and things like that – and maybe that was true, to a certain extent, but this made us fight even harder to keep the genre alive."

The musician also said that, like all careers, theirs had "ups and downs, with or without Bruce Dickinson ."
