Lead singer is doing well.

Grim Reaper frontman Steve Grimmett will be released from the hospital in Ecuador, where he has been hospitalized since mid-January, on Friday, according to a post made by his wife Millie on the band's official Facebook page.

According to Millie, her husband is doing well and will remain in the hospital only to manage his pain.

Grimmett has been in the hospital since January 17th, when he had to have his leg amputated due to an infection. The musician has since suffered several complications, even having to undergo further surgery to amputate a larger part of his leg.

A group of musicians came together to contribute to Steve Grimmet's hospitalization costs, as his insurance did not cover the surgeries. Learn more about the initiative here .
