Stephen Pearcy , frontman of Ratt , detailed his battle with liver cancer in an interview with Laughingmonkeymusic (via Blabbermouth ).
The musician, who only now revealed he has the illness, said he is monitoring his health closely and that he is doing well. "I don't know why I'm still here," he said. "But I'm grateful every day because all our colleagues are passing away."
He said he discovered the disease three years ago when he had a blood test, but that he was hesitant to disclose the information to the public. Pearcy said he changed his mind about talking about his illness when he realized it could inspire people to be more proactive about their health and get regular checkups.
