Stay up-to-date on the national rock and heavy metal scene with Orgulho Nacional!

Brazilian rock and heavy metal is alive and well, and we can prove it!

Many say that rock is dead or that in Brazil we don't have any worthwhile rock bands, much less heavy metal bands. But here at Wikimetal , the editorial team proves otherwise every day.

With the goal of drawing more attention to the national scene, we have the "National Pride" , where we frequently highlight national rock and heavy metal bands so you can stay up-to-date. In addition, we have a bi-weekly list featuring some of the scene's highlights.

To better showcase our National Pride , we've compiled a list of some bands that have been featured in this selection. Check them out below!

No One Spoke

The band No One Spoke released their first studio album this year, titled Nine Mirrors – which you can listen to below. Hailing from the south of the country, the band combines elements of metal with more classical instruments. The mix showcases the group's flexibility and ability to create something completely new.

Drowned

Wikimetal readers , the band Drowned is no stranger. In November, we interviewed them about their single “Hail, Captain Genocide!” , which led to a really cool chat. Now, we're recommending them again, as they've since released the singles “Salute Stupidity” and, most recently, “The Worst of Us” . The band, which uses its voice extensively to protest and express itself, believes that much of the heavy metal style demands such expression.

Black Priest

What if Black Sabbath and Judas Priest were one band? The band that aims to answer this question in practice is Brazilian. Formed in 2018, Black Priest is the evolution of the cover band Crianças da Tumba, formed by GG Neto and Júlio Xavier , two friends passionate about music.
