"She is irreplaceable."

Mark Hamill, the actor who plays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars , compared the death of his colleague Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) to that of John Lennon.

In an interview with Reuters , Hamil says: “She is irreplaceable. It’s the same thing that happened when John Lennon died. Every Beatles fan was hoping for a reunion, but then we lost him. It’s unbearably sad.”

He concludes by saying, "Star Wars is about great triumphs and great tragedies, and I can't think of a greater tragedy than losing our Leia."

The film's director, Rian Johnson, says that the story of the new film and those that will follow will take a different path than imagined due to the actress's death. "You'll see some things about Leia that you've never seen before," he says.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 14th and features Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, and Carrie Fisher in the cast.
