Spotify wants to know how many female artists you listen to.

The platform launched a special tool for International Women's Day

How many female artists do you have on your playlists? That's what Spotify is setting out to find out.

Taking advantage of International Women's Day, celebrated this Thursday, March 8th, the streaming platform launched a tool that analyzes users' musical habits based on the artists' gender. Created in partnership with Smirnoff, the Smirnoff Equalizer shows, as a percentage, how much male and female music each user listens to on the platform.

Along with the results, the service also delivers a personalized playlist with at least 50% of the tracks by female artists. The launch was inspired by statistics acquired from Spotify's 2017 Year In Music . In the ranking, none of the 10 most listened-to albums worldwide in the last year were by women, and of the 10 most played songs, only two were by female artists.

You can check how many women you're listening to here . And if you don't like Spotify's suggestions, no problem. We at Wikimetal have prepared a list of 11 metal bands with female vocalists that you should know.
