Spotify plans to increase the subscription price for its platform in several countries around the world, including Brazil. The change is expected to take place in the coming months.

In the United States, according to information from The Wall Street Journal , Spotify is expected to announce a $1 price increase for monthly subscriptions next week, raising the price from $9.99 to $10.99. Currently in Brazil, the price is R$ 19.90.

The report states that the price increase in the United States could impact other countries. The last time US prices increased, in April 2021, tuition fees also rose in Brazil.

The increase in subscriptions comes after pressure from investors to improve the company's profitability. According to the report, they are currently prioritizing profit over the number of users.
