Spiritbox announced the release of a comic book inspired by the concept of the album Eternal Blue , the group's debut album, released in September 2021.
Titled Eternal Blue: A Spiritbox Graphic Novel , the comic book will be released in June of this year by Z2 Comics. According to Loudwire , the album's lyrics were used to create "a haunting visual narrative" alongside comic book veterans such as Jim Krueger and Almacar Pinna .
The synopsis tells the story of Eva, a visual artist transported to a surreal world by the Spiritbox, which in the story literally becomes a "spirit box" with powers.
The Canadian alternative metal band took their time releasing their debut album, but reaped great results with Eternal Blue , which debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 . The album also made Wikimetal 's list of best albums of 2021 .
