In an interview with the Zach Sang Show , Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer , members of Spiritbox , confirmed that their new album, Tsunami Sea, was not produced by former Bring Me The Horizon Jordan Fish .
Earlier this year, Stringer shared a photo with Fish in the studio with the band, a fact that resonated in the media and among fans.
However, during the chat with Zach, the members of Spiritbox revealed that the new album was produced by Dan Braunstein and that the meeting with Jordan was something informal.
The relationship between Spiritbox and Jordan Fish
Courtney claimed that the photo posted on Instagram was something casual, but that it ended up taking on unexpected proportions because Jordan is famous.
"Mike accidentally gave Jordan Fish false publicity. We were very embarrassed because Jordan is so cool, friendly, and amazing to work with that you forget he's a famous person. So, we went and did some songwriting sessions with him, and Michael posted a picture saying, 'Hanging with Jordan!'"
According to Mike, the post was unintentional and he had no intention of causing a stir, as he always shares pictures with friends and producers in the studio.
“I did this all the time with Zakk [Cervini] or Drew [Fulk] or any of those guys. So, I wasn’t thinking about the repercussions. I was thinking, ‘Oh, I’m here with my friend Jordan, we’re making music, I’m just going to do a quick little thing.’”

LaPlante added: “I thought, ‘Michael, Jordan is famous! People are excited!’”
Mike continues: “At that moment, we were driving home and Jordan was in the car with us, and I said, ‘I’m sorry about that…’. And he said, ‘It’s okay,’ being very kind. And then I woke up the next day and thought, ‘Holy shit!’”.
Despite the setbacks, Mike Stringer commented that he "would love to work with Jordan," but their schedules didn't align.
“We did those sessions and went on tour, and then he obviously took on two or three albums. Then he said, ‘I’m busy.’ In the future, I hope we can work together, and maybe next time I won’t post a picture of him in the studio.”
It is worth noting that Tsunami Sea will be released on March 7, 2025, and follows the acclaimed debut album: Eternal Blue (2021).
