Soulspell Act V – Spirits of Ghosts, on March 14th via the Metal Relics label.
This is the band's first album since 2017, after an 8-year hiatus. The project featured mixing and mastering by Matias Kupiainen , known for being the guitarist of the band Stratovarius , raising the quality of the work to a new level . Production was handled by Heleno Vale and Soulspell.
Following up on The Second Big Bang , which featured artists such as Andre Matos , Arjen Lucassen , Fabio Lione , and others, the album continues the saga of Judith, Timo's mother and Tobit's girlfriend (a character present since the first album who has visions). Played by Daísa Munhoz , Judith arrives in the realm of ghosts after traversing purgatory.
In “Castle of Illusions”, a single released in December 2024 , Judith is greeted by the spectral butler Elliot ( Airton Araújo, professor and vocal coach) and must escape a marriage with Adze ( Kleber Ramalho, vocalist of PERC3PTION ), the King of Ghosts, who wishes to erase her memories of the earthly world.
Meanwhile, in the world of the living, Adrian ( Victor Emeka, vocalist of Híbrida ) finds Timo (Pedro Campos, vocalist of Hangar ) unconscious at the foot of the Sacred Dead Tree. To save him, he seeks the wisdom of Frith ( Filipe Oliveira, guest vocalist and album cover artist), who reveals that Timo (Judith's son) is in a spiritual battle to help his mother. The only way to rescue them is through the mysterious Fermat's Last Theorem.
Adrian and Frith embark on a perilous journey to the spiritual world aboard the Ship of Theseus, commanded by the eccentric Captain Sparrot ( Fábio Caldeira , vocalist of Maestrick ).
Act V – Spirits of Ghosts represents the pinnacle of Soulspell. “We are more mature and immersed in our composition. For the first time, we recorded all the instrumental parts of this album with the instrumentalists who perform Soulspell live, and a good portion of the vocals as well, creating a more organic dynamic. Working with Matias Kupiainen has taken the project to a new level. I'm sure the fans will feel this evolution,” comments Heleno Vale.

Soulspell was created in 2005 by drummer Heleno Vale and has since become a reference in the national scene in the metal opera genre. The band has released 5 albums, the first being A Legacy of Honor (2008). The album was the first national metal opera, which featured production by Tito Falaschi and collaborations with big names in the genre such as Edu Falaschi and Roland Grapow.
The first album sold well in Brazil and also gained prominence in Japan, launching a successful career with three more albums: Labyrinth of Truths, Hollow's Gathering , and The Second Big Bang , all of which were very well received both nationally and internationally, solidifying their success.
His interpretations of classics from bands like Sonata Arctica, Helloween , and Iron Maiden have attracted millions of people around the world with millions of views.
Act V – Spirits of Ghosts can already be considered the band's peak, with a powerful instrumental production and striking lyrics.
